After grappling with sewage overflow at Mattuthavani Central Vegetable Market in the city, traders on Saturday demanded action against dumping of medical waste and garbage inside the premises by Corporation vehicles. Corporation employees on Saturday reportedly dumped large quantities of medical waste and garbage collected from various areas such as Teppakulam, Santhaipettai, Subramaniapuram, and K.K. Nagar in an open section of the market. The waste, found wrapped in black plastic bags, included used syringes, medicine covers, tablets, and other medical equipment.
