Huge quantity of sewage seen seeping into Nainarkulam tank in Tirunelveli town. | Photo Credit: SHAIKMOHIDEEN A The Tirunelveli Corporation, which failed in the past to beautify Nainarkulam in Tirunelveli Town, a waterbody under the control of Public Works Department, has now proposed to invest over ₹ 5 crore to start pleasure boat ride in this tank, now a pool of sewage. The Nainarkulam spread over 150 acres gets water from Tamirabharani Irrigation System’s Tirunelveli Channel whenever water from the Papanasam dam is released for irrigation.
