Tiruchi airport records rise in cargo and passenger traffic

For the first time in Tiruchi international airport’s air cargo history, the airport crossed the 7,000 metric tonnes mark during the 2025-2026 financial year.

The airport handled 7,184 metric tonnes of cargo, recording a growth of approximately 11 % year over year in spite of connectivity issues in the month March due to the West Asia war. Cargo handled during the previous year was 6,480 metric tonnes.
