For the first time in Tiruchi international airport’s air cargo history, the airport crossed the 7,000 metric tonnes mark during the 2025-2026 financial year. The airport handled 7,184 metric tonnes of cargo, recording a growth of approximately 11 % year over year in spite of connectivity issues in the month March due to the West Asia war. Cargo handled during the previous year was 6,480 metric tonnes.
