Refusing to take cognisance of the CBI chargesheet citing “internal contradictions”, Special Judge Jitendra Singh rapped the federal agency for lapses in the investigation. Besides the two leaders, 21 others were given a clean chit in the case, including Telangana Jagruthi founder and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter K. Kavitha. While the detailed order is awaited, the CBI has decided to appeal against the court’s decision in the Delhi High Court stating that “several aspects of the investigation have been ignored or not considered adequately”.
