Chikkamagaluru district administration has banned the movement of multi-axle long-chassis vehicles on the road to the Sri Guru Dattatreya Bababudan Swamy Dargah for three days from March 4 in view of the annual three-day Urs. A communique issued by the district administration, on Thursday, stated that the road to the hill station was narrow and include deep curves. The movement of vehicles with long chassis on the road might affect the movement of the public participating in the event atop the hill. Considering the safety of the people and to avoid untoward incidents, Chikkamagaluru Deputy Commissioner has imposed the restriction. The district administration is expecting a turnout of 3,000 to 3,500 people for the urs at the shrine.
