The Bidar Police have seized narcotic substances being transported illegally on two motorcycles and arrested three men in this connection.

Superintendent of Police Pradeep Gunti, in a press release on Tuesday, said that the operation was carried out under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Chandrakant Pujari.

The raid was led by Deputy Superintendent of CEN Police S.N. Sanadi.

Acting on credible information, the police carried out the raid near Shahapur village on the outskirts of Bidar city.

The accused were intercepted while transporting narcotic substances on two motorcycles.

During the search, the police recovered cough syrup bottles and narcotic tablets concealed in two plastic bags.

Upon interrogation, the accused admitted that the narcotic substances were being transported for illegal sale in the city.

The police seized 100 bottles of cough syrup worth ₹59,511 and 2,160 narcotic tablets packed in two boxes. They also recovered two two-wheelers valued at ₹75,000.

A case has been registered at the Market Police Station under Sections 21 and 22(b) of the NDPS Act. The accused have been remanded in judicial custody.
