RAJESH Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin on Saturday said that Thoothukudi is rapidly emerging as a major industrial hub, competing with Chennai in industrial growth. Speaking at the event to distribute welfare assistance worth ₹110.66 crore to 3,958 beneficiaries in Thoothukudi, he attributed the district’s industrial growth to the hard work and unity of its people. He emphasised that the hard work of the women in the state plays a crucial role elevating Tamil Nadu’s economy, noting that since assuming office, the Chief Minister has been considering and implementing every scheme that meets the needs of women.
