Asha Nath paid a visit to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at his office on Monday. In a social media post after the visit, Mr. Rajesh said that he sought the support of the State government for the future developmental activities of the corporation. Mr. Rajesh said that Mr. Vijayan promised to extend the government’s co-operation for the Corporation’s initiatives. The Chief Minister also asked Mr. Rajesh to utilise the Union government’s project meant especially for capital cities. This was the Mayor’s first meeting with the Chief Minister after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wrested control of the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation in the recently-held local body elections, ending the four decade-long rule of the Left Democratic Front.
