‘The End of Oak Street’ teaser: Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor run for survival amidst a mysterious cosmic event

The teaser trailer of Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor’s upcoming survival drama, The End of Oak Street was unveiled by the makers on Thursday (March 26, 2026). Written and directed by David Robert Mitchell, the film also stars Maisy Stella and Christian Convery in pivotal roles.

The teaser trailer gives a brief glimpse into the eerie world of the film where Anne and Ewan seem to play parents to a boy and a girl and are trying to escape after a mysterious cosmic event destroys their neighbourhood in Oak Street. “Our house, our neighborhood, our whole street has moved,” says Anne’s character with intensity at one point. The teaser ends with the visual of a big creature resembling a dinosaur moving between houses.

The film’s synopsis as shared by the makers reads, “After a mysterious cosmic event rips Oak Street from suburbia and transports their neighborhood to someplace unknown, the Platt family soon discovers that their very survival depends on them sticking together as they navigate their now unrecognizable surroundings.”

The End of Oak Street is produced by J.J. Abrams, Hannah Minghella, Jon Cohen, David Robert Mitchell, Matt Jackson and Tommy Harper. Shot for IMAX by Michael Gioulakis, the film features music by Michael Giacchino. It will be released in theatres on August 14.
