Thasrak to host seminar on Vijayan’s women characters

The OV Vijayan Smaraka Samiti and the Vanita Sahiti district committee will conduct a seminar on the women characters immortalised by writer O.V. Vijayan at Thasrak near here on March 1.

The seminar is titled ‘Maimoona, Kunhamina and other women’. Smaraka Samiti secretary T.R. Ajayan said that the seminar would be an exclusive study of Vijayan’s popular women characters.

Kerala Literacy Mission director A.G. Oleena will inaugurate the day-long seminar on Sunday morning. Smaraka Samiti chairperson T.K. Narayanadas will preside.

Writers Sheela Tomy, Suja Suzanne George, V.S. Bindu and Mini Prasad will present papers at the seminar. A debate on O.V. Vijayan’s characters will also be held.
