A patient who had undergone heart transplantation procedure at a private hospital in Thanjavur recently, has resumed his normal life. According to the Director, Apex Heart Hospital, Thanjavur, S. Sivasankar, 53, who suffered from end-stage heart failure despite stent implantation twice in the past was admitted at the hospital in December 2025. As his condition worsened, transplantation was the only life-saving option for him.
