Chandrashekhar Rao from Telangana’s history, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, in a sarcastic tone, said that he would ensure that the corruption, misuse of public funds, fake passport accusations and exploitation of Telangana would remain etched forever in the annals of the State. Addressing a public meeting at Parigi in Vikarabad district, the Chief Minister said it was his responsibility to ensure that all the wrongdoings of KCR were remembered and no one could erase the memory of the “ten years of loot” during the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) rule. Reacting strongly to criticism by BRS leaders K.T. Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao over notices issued to KCR in the phone-tapping case, he asked whether it was wrong to serve notices to a former Chief Minister accused of tapping phones. He recalled that former IPS officer R.S. Praveen Kumar had himself spoken about a fake currency case involving KCR. He said KCR betrayed Dalits but the Congress government had given key constitutional positions to Dalits, including the Speaker’s post, and claimed this was one reason KCR avoided the Assembly. The Chief Minister also targeted the BJP, warning voters that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would not address local civic issues even if the BJP was voted to power in municipal elections. He alleged that the BRS and BJP had entered into a secret electoral understanding to defeat the Congress, claiming that BJP candidates were receiving support from BRS offices. Playing to the sentiments of Rangareddy district farmers, Mr. Revanth Reddy accused KCR of deliberately shelving the Pranahita–Chevella project worsening the plight of people in drought-prone Rangareddy district. He said the foundation stone near Chevella stood as proof. He questioned BRS leader Sabitha Indra Reddy on why she failed to secure approvals for completing the Chevella project despite claiming to have joined the BRS for Rangareddy’s development. Mr. Revanth Reddy assured that land acquisition for the Lakshmi Devi Palli reservoir would be completed soon and announced plans to bring Godavari water to Parigi, Tandur, and Vikarabad, while Krishna water would be diverted to Makthal, Narayanpet, and Kodangal, benefiting nearly 1.5 lakh acres. Highlighting infrastructure development, he said long-pending roads such as APPA Junction–Manneguda were being expedited after resolving court cases and that works on Tandur roads, the Regional Ring Road, and radial roads would be completed soon.
