The Telangana Health Department issued a heatwave advisory with dos and don’ts as the temperatures across the State have been on the rise and the India Meteorological Department has issued an alert about gradual rise in the maximum temperature by 2-3°C during the next three days. The maximum recorded temperatures in many locations in the State has been over 41°C in the past few days.

Broadly, the Director of Public Health and Family Welfare, B. Ravinder Nayak, urged people to stay hydrated, be indoors to the extent possible, and cover oneself while going out in the sun. People were suggested not to go out between 12.00 p.m. and 03:00 pm, avoid consuming drinks with large amounts of sugar and not to take high-protein, salty, spicy and oily food.
