The Telangana government on Wednesday launched welfare schemes for minority communities, including subsidised e-scooters for youth and financial assistance for women and vulnerable occupational groups. The schemes were routed through the Telangana State Minorities Finance Corporation. Among the schemes announced is the distribution of e-scooters to minority youth at a unit cost of up to ₹1.5 lakh, with 80% subsidy from TGMFC and a 20% beneficiary contribution, under the Empowerment of Youth programme. For the Turka Kasha Muslim community, the government also announced distribution of tool kits and generators, with a unit cost of up to ₹60,000 as a one-time grant. Online registrations for the schemes will be open from February 19 to February 28 through the official portal. While Minister for Minorities Welfare Mohammed Azharuddin launched these schemes, he was flanked by leaders, including Advisor to the Telangana Government for Minorities Welfare Mohammad Ali Shabbir and Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society president Faheem Qureshi. Financial assistance cheques of up to ₹50,000 per beneficiary were provided to minority women under the Indiramma Minority Mahila Yojana, while sewing machines were distributed under the Indiramma Minority Mahila Shakti Scheme.
