Under the scheme — launched in March 2024 — up to 200 units of free power per month is provided to lower income groups and ration card holders. Replying to a question of MLC Vijayashanti in Legislative Council on Friday (January 2, 2026), Deputy Chief Minister and Power Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that while 25,35,560 beneficiaries are provided electricity by Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited, 27,46,938 get the resource from Northern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited.
