Telangana is bracing for a spell of intense summer heat, with daytime temperatures in the capital region and across the State expected to rise by a few degrees over the next fortnight. Maximum temperatures are likely to range between 41C and 42/43C in the twin cities and could touch 45C in parts of the State.

Meteorologists at the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS) said that until last week, both maximum and minimum temperatures were largely normal, or even slightly below normal. Daytime temperatures stood at 36C–38C in the city and 38C–41C in other regions, owing to intermittent showers that brought some moisture into the atmosphere.
