The final electoral roll following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise for Chennai district has recorded a total of 28,30,936 voters across 16 Assembly constituencies.

The roll comprises 14,64,344 female voters, 13,65,763 male voters, and 829 transgender voters. With January 1, 2026, as the qualifying date, the roll was released on Monday by the District Election Officer and the Greater Chennai Corporation Commissioner.

During the revision process, 2,70,573 new names were added to the list, including 1,43,053 women, 1,27,418 men, and 102 transgender individuals, according to a press release.

Perambur constituency has the highest number of voters at 2,22,792, while Harbour has the lowest at 1,16,896. Velachery has 2,11,691 voters, followed by Kolathur with 2,07,251 and Saidapet with 2,00,697. Virugambakkam accounts for 1,96,536 voters and Dr. Radhakrishnan Nagar has 1,95,856. Mylapore has 1,94,731 voters and Anna Nagar 1,81,402.

Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar has 1,78,793 voters, Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni 1,63,866, and Villivakkam 1,59,764. Royapuram has 1,56,931 voters, Thiyagaraya Nagar 1,54,943, and Thousand Lights 1,53,908. Egmore accounts for 1,34,879 voters.

A total of 4,079 polling stations have been established across the district for the 16 constituencies. Velachery has the highest number of polling stations at 314, while Harbour has the lowest at 192.

The electoral rolls will be available for public viewing at the Greater Chennai Corporation zonal offices in Tondiarpet, Royapuram, Thiru.Vi.Ka Nagar, Anna Nagar, Teynampet, Kodambakkam, and Adyar, and at all polling station centres, the release said.
