Stalin, on Thursday (February 5, 2026), virtually inaugurated 183 projects completed by the Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department in various locations across the State at a total cost of ₹3,511 crore. He also unveiled the foundation for 10 projects that are scheduled to be implemented at a total cost of ₹1,267 crore. The completed projects include integrated drinking waters in Chengalpattu, Kanniyakumari, Namakkal, Thoothukudi, Tirupattur and Tiruvallur districts, drainage projects in Greater Chennai Corporation and Coimbatore Corporation and various civic infrastructure in Hosur, Namakkal and Thanjavur Corporations, an official release said. In another event at Kalaivanar Arangam in Chennai, the Chief Minister handed over various awards to craft persons and artisans, who have excelled in their respective fields. He handed over ‘Living Craft Treasure’ awards to 10 best craft persons and Poompuhar State Awards to 10 best artisans. C. Kulunthan, N. Rajendran, K. Rethinam, S. Gopal, C. Indhira, K. Subramaniam, T. Thirumoorthy, K. Balraj, S.S. Sangeetham and K. Subramanian received the ‘Living Craft Treasure’ awards for 2025-26 from Mr. Stalin, an official release said. The award carries a cheque for ₹1 lakh, a thamirapattiram, an eight gram gold medal and a certificate. The Chief Minister also inaugurated a handicraft exhibition at Kalaivanar Arangam. Mr. Stalin handed over the Poompuhar State Awards to K. Venkatesh, C. Sangeetha, A. Babu, K. Reeta, M. Shabana, S. Murugan, A. Raj, A. Gavvabeevi, T. Celine Mary and M. Kumar for 2025-26. It carries a cash prize of ₹50,000, a four gram gold medal, a tamirapathiram and a certificate. Ministers K.N. Nehru, E.V. Velu, T.M. Anbarasan, M.P. Saminathan, Ma. Subramanian, P.K. Sekarbabu; Chennai Mayor R. Priya and senior officials participated. In the Secretariat, the Chief Minister handed over enhanced government grant of ₹36 crore towards administration and maintenance cost of temples in Kanniyakumari, Pudukottai and Thanjavur Devasthanams. He also handed over government grants to the tune of ₹1.17 crore for the Muktinath pilgrimage of 389 pilgrims. Mr. Stalin virtually inaugurated various projects for Tamil Nadu Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation Limited that have been implemented at a total cost of ₹100 crore. Ministers P.K. Sekarbabu, T. Mano Thangaraj; Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam and senior officials participated.
