As of 3 p.mc. on Sunday (April 5, 2026), details of a total of 3,430 nominations (many candidates have filed multiple nominations) have been uploaded by the Election Commission of India (ECI). The nominations filed will be taken up for scrutiny on April 7 and the last date for withdrawal of nominations, if any, is on April 9. Polling in all 234 Assembly constituencies is scheduled between 7 am and 6 pm on April 23. Assembly elections LIVE updates Meanwhile, the Commission on Sunday (April 5) said that it has urged the enforcement authorities to ensure ordinary citizens were not inconvenienced or harassed during the checking and inspection for the enforcement of its directives. It further referred to District Grievance Committees set up to address grievances in this regard. As of April 5, cash to the tune of ₹30 crore, drugs to the tune of ₹67 crore, among others were seized across Tamil Nadu by flying and static surveillance teams.
