Seizures worth ₹1,80,91,898 have been recorded across 10 Assembly constituencies in Coimbatore district as on March 20, 2026, during election surveillance, with cash accounting for a major share of the total. According to official data, Flying Squad Teams (FST) seized ₹52,96,350 in cash, while Static Surveillance Teams (SST) accounted for ₹53,36,210. The remaining value comprised liquor, gold and silver, and other materials. In Mettupalayam, seizures totalled ₹16,50,720, entirely in cash, with FST accounting for ₹6,18,170 and SST ₹10,32,550. Sulur recorded the highest seizure value at ₹47,54,655. Apart from ₹5,33,400 in cash, officials seized 8.64 litres of liquor valued at ₹11,000, 255.29 grams of gold and silver worth ₹37,30,255, and 800 gift packs valued at ₹4,80,000. Kavundampalayam reported seizures worth ₹14,39,150, including ₹7,30,750 in cash and 47.45 grams of gold and silver valued at ₹7,08,400, along with other items. In Coimbatore North, seizures stood at ₹6,78,600, including ₹6,56,250 in cash and other materials worth ₹22,350. Thondamuthur recorded ₹1,20,000 in seizures, all in cash. Coimbatore South accounted for ₹22,86,379, including ₹19,21,250 in cash and other items worth ₹3,65,129. Singanallur reported seizures worth ₹4,99,164, comprising ₹4,66,100 in cash, 11.5 litres of liquor valued at ₹32,564, and other items valued at ₹500. Kinathukadavu saw seizures amounting to ₹35,10,475, including ₹14,09,650 in cash and other materials worth ₹21,00,825. Pollachi recorded ₹20,31,270, entirely in cash. Valparai reported ₹11,21,475 in seizures, including ₹11,13,170 in cash and 19.55 litres of liquor valued at ₹8,305. In total, officials seized 39.69 litres of liquor and 302.74 grams of gold and silver across the district, along with other materials valued at nearly ₹30 lakh.
