Stalin on Friday (February 6, 2026) unveiled a full-length statue of foundational Communist ideologue, Karl Marx, on the Government Museum complex in Egmore, Chennai. Mr. Stalin unveiled the statue in the presence of a host of personalities, including CPI(M) State secretary P. Shanmugam, CPI State secretary M. Veerapandian, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) founder Thol. Thirumavalavan, MDMK chief Vaiko, Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) president K. Selvaperunthagai, senior CPI(M) leader G. Sekarbabu, and E.V. Velu also participated. Mr. Stalin, on April 2 last year, announced that the State government would install a statue of Karl Marx in the city.
