Stalin will participate in an election public meeting at Chithode at 9 a.m. on April 2 and seek votes for all eight Assembly constituency candidates in the district. Of the eight constituencies, the DMK is contesting in Erode (West), where S. Muthusamy is the candidate; Perundurai (Thoppu N.D. Venkatachalam); Bhavani (K.A. Sekar alias K.A. Chandrasekar); Anthiyur (M. Sivabalan); and Gobichettipalayam (N. Nallasivam). Its alliance partners are contesting in Bhavanisagar (SC), where P.K. Sundaram represents the CPI; Erode (East), where the Congress is in the fray; and Modakkurichi, where S. Senthil Nathan is contesting on behalf of the MDMK on the ‘Rising Sun’ symbol. Mr. Stalin, along with leaders of alliance parties, will campaign in support of the candidates.
