Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) general secretary Premallatha Vijayakant, on Thursday (February 12, 2026), once again dismissed reports that her party was in alliance talks with both the Dravidian majors at the same time.

During a press conference in Chennai, she wondered how such a narrative was being spread against her party when Minister for Public Works and DMK leader E.V. Velu, AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, and BJP state president Nainar Nagenthran had clarified that there were no such talks with the DMDK until then.

While responding to a question on DMK leader and Minister for Forests and Khadi R.S. Rajakannappan’s remarks that her party was holding negotiations with both the Dravidian majors simultaneously, she said, “People of Tamil Nadu know about the DMDK as well as the person who made this comment.”

While responding to a query on share in power, she said such an arrangement would be ideal, but that could be decided only after the declaration of the election results.
