KARUNAKARAN The Karur Town police on Saturday registered a case against a group of AIADMK cadre for violating the Model Code of Conduct while according a welcome to former Minister M.R. Vijayabhaskar, the party’s candidate for the Karur Assembly constituency. According to sources, a large number of cadre of the AIADMK and the supporters of Mr. Vijayabhaskar, who assembled at Thirukampuliyur roundabout, received him on Friday by bursting crackers, when he arrived in the constituency after being nominated. Travelling in a vehicle, Mr. Vijayabhaskar led a rally that went through the thoroughfares in Karur Town. Based on a complaint, the Karur Town police registered a case against around 1,000 AIADMK partymen.
