Minister for Food Processing T. G. Bharath on Saturday criticised YSR Congress Party leaders for attempting to save face after the exposure of their alleged involvement in the ghee adulteration scam linked to the Tirumala temple. Speaking to the media after participating in the distribution of social pensions here, the Minister said it was absurd for YSRCP leaders to feign innocence despite having committed grave mistakes. He asserted that only the coalition government led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was capable of protecting the sanctity of the Tirumala temple. Referring to the Special Investigation Team report, Mr. Bharath said it did not state anywhere that adulteration had not taken place in the ghee supplied to the temple. He added that the issue would be raised in the Assembly. The Minister also said that the Davos meet was a major success and that its outcomes would soon be translated into concrete action.
