Tirupati Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) students Sheikh Ghouse Basha and Jangam Shruti secured a place in the Guinness Book of Records for being part of the Kuchipudi Kalavaibhavam-2 event conducted recently by Bharat Arts Academy in Hyderabad.

Ghouse Basha is pursuing Master’s programme, while Shruti is doing her Bachelor’s degree at SVIMS College of Physiotherapy. Their names were recorded in the Guinness Book of Records due to their participation in the largest Kuchipudi lesson titles’ demonstration, which saw 4,608 participants sharing the stage.

Meanwhile, Sadhu Sanghavi, a student of the same college, won the first prize in the State-level essay writing competition conducted by Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samiti under the ‘Vijaya Sphoorthi’ programme.

SVIMS Director and Vice-Chancellor R.V. Kumar congratulated the college principal K. Madhavi and the students for the achievement. He appreciated the students for showing interest in fine arts and literature apart from academics.
