General public and political parties can lodge election-related complaints in the toll-free number 1800 599 4402. The Election Commission had created a mobile App CVigil to lodge complaints through mobile phone relating to the Model Code of Conduct violations, attracting voters by way of bribing them and those pertaining to threatening the voters by sending photographs, video or audio clips. Cash totalling ₹50,000 and articles worth over ₹10,000 being carried during the election period would be seized during checks if proper documents were not shown to the officials.
