Courtesy: X.com/@ChennaiIPL Sun TV Network Limited has filed a copyright infringement suit in the Madras High Court against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Limited for having used the audio tracks, background music and dialogues from Rajinikanth starrer Jailer, Jailer 2 and Coolie in a promotional video released on its social media handles to introduce the Indian Premier League (IPL) team’s new cricket jersey. However, appearing before Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy on Friday (March 13, 2026), senior counsel J. Ravindran, representing the television network, said, CSK Limited had stopped using the copyright materials after the plaintiff had sent a mail to it on March 1, 2026 highlighting their unauthorised use. He insisted CSK should not indulge in such unauthorised usage in future too.
