Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to study the Qatar model for developing a world-class Ssports City in Amaravati, positioning the capital as a hub for international-standard sports infrastructure. The directive was issued during the 57th CRDA meeting, chaired by the Chief Minister on Tuesday. Emphasising sustainable revenue generation, the Chief Minister instructed theofficials to financially strengthen the Amaravati Development Corporation (ADCL) and the AP CRDA by adopting robust revenue models and creating income-generating assets. He said both the institutions must grow into self-sustaining entities, supporting long-term capital development. To boost tourism and enhance urban appeal, Mr. Naidu approved proposals to develop the Krishna riverfront as a Marina Waterfront. He directed officials to invite PPP mode tenders for jetties, leisure tourism boats, food plazas, landscaping works, and water sports activities, and to prepare a comprehensive master plan. He reiterated the vision of transforming Amaravati into a Blue-Green City, with internal canals, riverfront beautification, and sustainable water management. The Chief Minister noted that the new barrage proposed upstream Prakasam Barrage would ensure reliable water resources for the capital, and suggested exploring tourism development of river islands and waterfronts on both the banks of the Krishna River. The CRDA approved extending ₹5,000 monthly pension to orphaned minors in the capital region under the Land Pooling Scheme. It also ratified 754 posts across various cadres in the AP CRDA. Further, the authority agreed to provide alternative plots for 112 returnable plots affected by road junctions, provided such plots had not been mutated, or sold to third parties. The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure no inconvenience to the farmers. MA&UD Minister P. Narayana, Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand, and senior officials from the Municipal Administration, CRDA, and Finance departments were present.
