Gandhi Smaraka Nidhi -Vizianagaram city president and retired headmaster Karrothu Satyam on Sunday (March 1, 2026) said that the students should focus on science subjects such as physics, chemistry and Botany from the primary-level to have a strong foundation in academics so that they could prove their talent in national-level competitive examinations such as JEE-Mains and NEET. He gave away prizes to the winners of various competitions organised on the occasion of National Science Day on February 28. He said that Mahatma Gandhi used to tell students to have a scientific outlook in academics apart from acquiring knowledge in all subjects. Mr. Satyam said that the association planned to organise academic competitions for students of all age groups during the ensuing summer holidays with the support of academicians, scholars and members of the organisation.
