Hyderabad TPCC president and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud said that Adilabad would soon get an airport, and called for strengthening IT centres in districts such as Adilabad and Mahabubabad, to further boost employment opportunities and regional development. Speaking in the Legislative Council on Saturday, Mr. Goud emphasised the need for decentralisation of development and said that a balanced growth across regions should be adopted as a prime policy of the government. He said steps were being taken to ensure that development was not confined to Hyderabad alone. The IT sector in Telangana is witnessing rapid growth under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu, he said, and thanked the CM’s initiatives for Hyderabad emerging as a city to compete with leading global metropolitan centres. Mr. Goud also said that Telangana was on track to emerge as a global investment destination and claimed that the State had attracted record investments of ₹1.75 lakh crore under the leadership of Mr. Revanth Reddy. Taking a dig at BRS, he asked whether its leaders could account for the volume of investments attracted during the decade-long tenure of K.T. Rama Rao as IT Minister. Calling for cooperation beyond party lines, Mr. Goud said all political parties should work together for the overall development of the State.
