Sasikumar, 7, of Valappakudi near Thirukattupalli was bitten by a stray dog on Thursday and has been admitted to the Thanjavur Medical College and Hospital. According to official sources, Valappakudi and his mother Pappayi were walking towards the Cauvery ghats when the dog charged at them. On hearing the boy’s scream, passersby came to his rescue and brought him to the Government Hospital, Thirukattupalli, from where he was shifted to the Thanjavur Medical College and Hospital, sources said.
