Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Tuesday visited his Kolathur Assembly constituency, where he inaugurated projects and also unveiled foundation for more projects.

Mr. Stalin inaugurated the sewage pumping station set up by Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) with facility to assess H2S gas emission and also integrated with IoT-based automated system. The station set up at ₹2.82 crore is located on Siva Elango Salai.

He also unveiled foundation stone for the construction of rain water harvesting facilities, pedestrian pathway, badminton court, recreation facilities, among others in Jawahar Nagar on Siva Elango Salai. All these facilities are to be set up at a total cost of ₹3.45 crore, an official release said.

Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments P.K. Sekarbabu, Chennai Mayor R. Priya, Chennai Central MP Dayanidhi Maran; legislators Thayagam Kavi, A. Vetriazhagan, Joseph Samuel, and senior officials were among those present.

He also inaugurated and inspected a newly constructed integrated police office complex built with modern facilities, housing the Kolathur Police District Deputy Commissioner’s office, and other offices.

The four-storey complex includes facilities such as a reception hall, computer rooms, record storage rooms, armoury, property room, lock-up, dining area, conference hall, police personnel rest rooms and recreation hall.

The integrated police offices functioning in the building located at Peravallur on the 70 feet road include the Kolathur Police District Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Kolathur Range Assistant Commissioner’s Office, K-5 Peravallur Law and Order and Crime Police Station, W-38 Kolathur All Women Police Station (AWPS), Kolathur Traffic Enforcement Police Station, Kolathur Traffic Investigation Wing, Kolathur District Cyber Crime Unit, and the Inspector’s Office of the West Zone Serious Crime Squad.

Director General of Police (In charge) G. Venkataraman and the Greater Chennai City Police Commissioner A. Arun, honoured the Chief Minister with a shawl and presented him a memento.
