With the SSC exams set to begin on Monday, authorities of the education, police and revenue departments in Nandyal, Kurnool and Anantapur districts have completed all arrangements for the smooth conduct of the exams.

In Anantapur district, as many as 31,972 students including 16,402 girls and 15,570 boys will appear for the exams in the regular mode apart from the over 1,200 private students. The exams will be held across 143 examination centres from 9.30 a.m. to 12.45 p.m.

The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) will allow students appearing for the SSC exams to travel free of cost in its buses during the examination period. District education officer M. Prasad Babu said: “We have set up a control room—contact number 7799465363— to assist students and parents with information related to the examinations.”

In Kurnool district, a total of 37,331 students will take the examinations that is being held across 160 centres. Collector A. Siri said: “Prohibitory orders have been imposed at the examination centres to prevent people from gathering. Arrangements have been made to ensure uninterrupted power supply and drinking water. ORS packets will be provided to those appearing for the exams. Medical staff and medicines will also be available at the examination centres in view of the hot weather.”

Students and invigilators will not be allowed to carry any electronic equipment into the examination centres, she added.

Nandyal Collector Rajakumari Ganiya said 25,035 students will appear for the examination in the district. She asked students to reach the examination centre well in advance and told students to write the exams neatly to improve their chances of scoring better marks.
