The SRM Prime Hospital performed an artery heart valve replacement surgery on a senior citizen through minimal invasive heart valve replacement procedure. The successful surgery by the medical team has saved the 73-year-old patient who was having calcific severe aortic stenosis.

S. Balamurugan, Consultant of Interventional Cardiology, at a press conference held on Thursday, said the patient was suffering from decompensated heart failure where none of the standard access routes for surgery were feasible. The only viable option was the right axillary artery operation which was performed using an advanced catheter-based valve delivery system.
