A four-day annual fair of the Sri Vishwaradhya Temple in Abbetumkur village in Yadgir district will begin on Sunday and conclude on February 25.

Addressing a press conference on the temple premises on Tuesday, Peethadhipathi of the temple Gangadhar Shivacharya Swami said that on Sunday, a grand chariot procession will be taken out after traditional pujas and rituals.

He noted that Vishwaradhya was a great saint of the region and during his lifetime, he strived to build a casteless society and considered humanity above all.

Thousands of devotees from across the State and also from neighbouring Maharashtra, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh will participate in the annual fair, he said.

Jagadguru Gavisiddeshwar Mahaswamiji of Gavisiddeshwar Mahasamsthan, Koppal, will preside over the Manava Dharm Samavesh (Religion of Humanity) during the evening programmes. A host of Ministers will participate.

On February 24, Principal District and Sessions Judge H.G. Marulasiddaradhya and First Additional District and Sessions Judge A. Eranna will inaugurate the Sharana Samskriti Utsav, while seers of various religious mutts will participate.

MLA Channareddy Patil Tunnur, Subhashchandra Koulagi and others were present.
