Coimbatore-based Sri Krishna Sweets Private Limited, which makes sweets and savouries, has clarified that it adheres to FSSAI norms, ensuring safety, sanitation, and product integrity across all operations.

“We welcome independent, certified testing of our products and remain fully cooperative with all regulatory authorities,” said M. Krishnan of Sri Krishna Sweets to the media on Wednesday. There are recent reports in a section of the media, alleging that Sri Krishna Sweets uses vanaspathy in its Mysore Pa and that the government has levied penalty on it in Chennai.

Mr. Krishnan refuted the report saying that its 50,000 sq.ft food manufacturing facility is well-maintained and hygienically operated. Storage systems are systematically organised with FIFO practices, and packaging and labelling comply with all statutory requirements, he contended.

With branches at 16 cities and towns in India and two places overseas, Sri Krishna Sweets has trained food handlers following strict personal hygiene protocols, he added.

Sri Krishna Sweets said that at no point, during or in the process of preparation of any of its products, has it replaced ghee or used substitutes such as Vanaspathy.
