Sports vital for discipline and leadership, says Chittoor ASP

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) S.R. Rajasekhar Raju on Tuesday (March 31, 2026) inaugurated the Annual Sports Day 2026 of Sreenivasa Institute of Technology and Management Studies (SITAMS) at its sports complex here.

Addressing the students, the ASP said that sport is not only an extracurricular activity but also a core part of education, as it builds discipline, resilience, and leadership. He urged students to treat the field as a training ground for life, where teamwork, focus, and the ability to handle pressure help shape character and decision-making.

Later, the Sports Day events commenced with a march past by students, followed by the Olympic torch relay. Track and field events were conducted with participation from students of various departments. Prizes were distributed to the winners at the valedictory.
