Vizianagaram Municipal Corporation has launched a special drive for property tax collections as only one month is left in current financial year-2025-26. The civic body, which collected ₹40 crore, is keen to achieve the target of ₹55 crore this year. Though it was a holiday on March 1, the special teams took up a door-to-door campaign on Sunday (March 1, 2026) for the collection of arrears from the property owners. Commissioner B.fees Bala Swamy and Assistant Commissioner Killana Appala Raju and others asked the people to cooperate with the officials and pay their property tax dues immediately to avoid late fees and penalties. Mr. Bala Swamy said that the teams were directed to focus on vacant land tax collection and water bills also during this special drive, which would continue till March 31, 2026.
