The Andhra Pradesh Teachers’ Federation (APTF) on Thursday met Director of School Education Department Tamin Ansari and discussed issues related to spot valuation duties.

APTF State president G. Hrudaya Raju and general secretary S. Chiranjeevi alleged that contrary to the norm that individuals above 60 years of age, who are supposed to be exempted from Class 10 spot valuation duties, had been assigned such duties in some cases. Additionally, teachers who were not teaching Class 10 had also been assigned the work, they claimed, requesting Ms. Ansari to exempt such teachers, along with those suffering from health issues and those from Mandals located far from district headquarters, from spot duties.

The federation leaders said teachers from Mandals merged into Tirupati from Annamayya district should also be exempted from spot duties.

The federation leaders also requested the Director of School Education Department to conduct a review with teachers’ associations and remove unscientific content from the syllabus. They also made an appeal to her to conduct a meeting with teachers’ associations to address long-pending issues.
