A 50-year-old snack shop owner in Tiruvallur was killed by his kitchen assistant on Tuesday night. Chinnappan was running a snack shop in Magaral of Tiruvallur district, and had employed Panchaanan Root, a native of Odisha, as his assistant in the kitchen. On Tuesday night, Chinnappan spotted Panchaanan consuming liquor in the kitchen and warned him against it. Subsequently, Panchaanan assaulted him with a heavy utensil, killing him on the spot.
