SHAIKMOHIDEEN Seeking minimum wages of ₹19,500 as promised by the DMK in its poll manifesto in 2021, the anganwadi workers and the nutrition meal scheme assistants staged sit-in protest on the District Collectorate on Wednesday. The protestors said the minimum wages of ₹19,500 should be given to the anganwadi assistants and 50% reservation given to the anganwadi assistants with 10 years experience in the recruitment of government jobs. The 60,000-odd vacancies in the anganwadis and nutritious meal scheme should be filled-up, they said.
