Ashok Members of various political parties jointly took out a silent procession in Madurai on Thursday to pay homage to freedom fighter and veteran Communist leader R. Nallakannu, who passed away in Chennai on Wednesday. The cadres took out the silent rally from Arapalayam Cross Road to Pechiamman Padithurai. The rally was organised by the Communist Party of India. A memorial meeting was also held following the silent rally. Leaders of various political parties paid their tributes to Nallakannu.
