The officials from the HR&CE Department have announced a series of events to be held through out the night of February 15 to the next day on account of Shivaratri. The programme starts with a ‘mangala isai’ at 6 p.m. Oduvars and Thevara teachers will present ‘Thirumurai Vinnappam’ between 6.15 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. From 6.30 p.m. to 7 p.m., bharatanatyam will be staged by Gurusishya Alayam, Madurai. The officials said they had organised spiritual discourse, devotional music and a ‘pattimandram’ on spirituality which would be held till 12 a.m. Subsequently, there would be bharatanatyam by artistes from Kalai Narthanalaya, Madhurapuri Dance School, Mudra Academy, Yuthara Kalaikoodam, Thoothukudi Isha Kendra Kalachar Academy, Chennai-Madurai Prashiddam Natyalaya and Yazhini Kalaikoodam, Madurai, till 5 a.m. on Monday (Feb. 16).
