Shivamogga district administration has appealed to the people to cooperate with the officers for conducting the survey to gather information about the deemed forest and forest areas in the district. The administration has initiated the joint survey, involving the officers of the Revenue, Forest, Land Records, and Panchayat Raj Departments, to collect the village-wise and survey number-wise details of the forest areas. The administration sought the people’s cooperation when the officers’ teams visit the villages. The State government has ordered the survey to clear the confusion over the extent of deemed forest in the state and problems faced by the farmers. The government had constituted a review committee to look into the issue. The government has to submit the same to the Supreme Court, said a release issued by the district administration.
