Religious head and Shiv Sena State president Siddalinga Swami has demanded the suspension of police officer Somaling Kiradalli and the initiation of a departmental inquiry against him for what he says misleading court.

His demand comes after the court penalised the officer for furnishing false information in a bail-related case.

Addressing a press conference in Kalaburagi on Wednesday, Siddalinga Swami said that Mr. Kiradalli, who is currently serving as Deputy Superintendent of Police, Directorate of Civil Rights Enforcement Cell, earlier worked as Circle Inspector of Police at the Brahmapur Police Station.

During his tenure there, an FIR was registered against three accused, Salahuddin Shaikh, Shabana Begum and Mateen, who were granted bail by court on January 31, 2025.

However, the officer submitted false information to the court claiming that the accused had violated bail conditions and filed an application under Section 483(3) of the BNSS.

The V Additional District and Sessions Court, after examining the petition filed by the accused, observed that the officer (Mr. Kiradalli) deliberately misled the court.

Taking serious note of the mental harassment caused to the accused, the court directed the officer to pay ₹50,000 as compensation, he said.

Siddalinga Swami said that during his tenure at the Brahmapur Police Station, the officer intimidated those accused in several cases with the threat he will send them to jail after getting their bail cancelled.

Expressing strong displeasure, the seer said that justice has become a distant dream for the common people due to such goings-on and demanded stern action against the officer.

He urged district in-charge Minister Priyank Kharge to take the matter seriously and address the issue by initiating action against the officer.
