The seer of Udupi Shiroor Mutt Vedavardhana Tirtha, who will ascend the Sarvajna Peetha during the Udupi Paryaya Mahotsav on January 18, will do the Udupi ‘pura pravesha’ on January 9.

Addressing press persons in Udupi on Wednesday, Yashpal Suvarna, Udupi MLA, and president of the Reception Committee of Shrioor Paryaya said that the seer will first visit Shiroor ‘moola mutt’ and later arrive at Kadiyali Mahishamardini Temple. Later, he will do the ‘pura pravesha’ in a procession at 3 p.m. About 5,000 persons are expected to participate in the procession, which will pass through (from Kadiyali) Kalsanka, City Bus Stand, Kidiyoor Hotel Road, Hanuman Circle, Kanakadasa Road and Car Street.

The seer will later have the darshan of Lord Sri Krishna through ‘Kanakana Kindi’ and visit Chandramouleshwara and Anantheswara temples before visiting Sri Krishna Temple.

Later, a civic reception will be accorded to him. It will be followed by cultural programmes on the same stage. The cultural programmes will be held on the same stage till January 17.

The ‘hore kanike’ will be accepted from January 10 to January 17. The ‘hore kanike’ will be displayed in Sri Krishna Mutt’s parking area. Different cultural programmes will take place on the stage erected in the parking area from January 10 to January 27.
