Panic gripped residents of Arulavadi village in Thalavadi hills after a sheep was found dead and mutilated in an open area on Saturday (March 21, 2026) morning. Arulavadi, a village surrounded by forest areas, largely depends on agriculture and livestock rearing. Villagers were shocked to discover the carcass of the sheep with its body severely torn, raising suspicion of an attack by a wild animal. Residents immediately alerted the Forest Department. According to locals, there had been reports of leopard movement in the vicinity in recent days, leading to speculation that the animal could be responsible for the kill.
