The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) has issued a severe heatwave alert for 51 mandals and a heatwave alert for 49 mandals in the State on Monday. On Sunday, heatwave conditions were witnessed in 10 mandals of Parvathipuram-Manyam, Tirupati, Vizianagaram and West Godavari districts. The day was not as hot as the previous day, when the temperature in many places in the State crossed 41 degrees Celsius. Pottipadu of Kondapuram mandal in YSR Kadapa district recorded 43.8°C, the highest temperature of the day.
