Several BRS functionaries join Congress as ruling party steps up electioneering in KMC

The Congress is poised to emerge triumphant in the February 11 elections to Karimnagar Municipal Corporation (KMC), said Karimnagar Assembly constituency in-charge Velchala Rajender Rao.

He conducted door-to-door election campaign in the 12^th, 32^nd and 39^th divisions of the KMC on Friday to garner support for the Congress candidates.

Speaking on the occasion, he lambasted the BRS and BJP accusing them of trying to ‘hoodwink; voters by making ‘false promises’.

The BRS earned notoriety for scams, he said, alleging that several former corporators of the BRS were involved in land grabbing cases in KMC limits.

The Congress is steadfast in its commitment to develop Karimnagar on all fronts, he said, appealing to voters to elect the Congress candidates in the KMC elections with a thumping majority.

Meanwhile, several BRS functionaries led by Banda Gopal Reddy joined the Congress in the presence of Mr. Rajender Rao in Karimnagar on Friday.
